The history of space travel
space travel timeline
President Kennedy September 12, 1962 gave a speech in which he promised that we would build a rocket the size of a football field with various metal alloys many of which do not even exist yet. With an accuracy comparable to that of the best shows that introduces a man to the moon, uncharted celestial body that was 240,000 miles to travel far to over 25 miles per hour transportation equipment would be required for propulsion, steering control , communications, food and survival, before the end of the decade (which was less than eight years in a row).

Something like this seems too soon. Especially for a country that had less than half an hour manned space flight. But we were motivated both by our own need to explore the moon and the most realistic fact that the Russians had much more experience and advanced alarming rate. We were at the height of the cold war and the fact that the Russians had more space technology was an alarming fact in our national security.

But the real gun start occurred in 1957, when the Russians released Sputnik then just a month later, put a dog in orbit too. It was incredibly alarming to Americans since now the Russians took over satellites in space, and that could put nuclear weapons in space too. Then the most damaging blow to American pride was in 1961, when the Russians had put a man in low orbit and made a circle around the Earth in less than two hours.

America quickly picked up the pace of space exploration, accelerating the process also completed several tests with disastrous rocket failed the test. However, we were finally able to get second place when we publish a man named Alan Shepard on a flight into orbit shortly. At the time it was the Mercury project that was in control of manned space activity. 7 military test pilots were selected to be part of this project and the expansion of the newly formed NASA.

In our sixth mission, we were able to finally get America in about two days of space travel on our own. Then, after it came to designing Gemini the biggest difference between Mercury and Gemini project was the fact that Gemini has two manned space and not have been named after the Latin word for twins. He acted as the connection between mercury and Apollo and had many members of both.
space travel timeline
Gemini 4 was the first American EVA was called Activity or extra space walk Vehicle (with someone outside the vehicle). We were catching fast with Russia as they had their first spacewalk just two and a half months before America. We continue to collect more and more dynamic. Between 1965-1966 Gemini 10 missions were able to make America even with Russia and began to break records from ours. The most famous event in Gemini 8 wherein came the first coupling between two spacecraft. Gemini 8 came incredibly close to complete catastrophe that the two spacecraft began to turn. They turned so quickly that the crew almost dark separation is even worse than tour. The two crew members were future Apollo David Scott and many more famous Neil Armstrong as captain.
space travel timeline
America has begun the search for better rockets that could go into space and Titan rockets. We quickly found our answer when we started building the Saturn rocket. This is the most powerful engine ever created by mankind. Once activated, it was brighter than the sun. It would be faster to transport the man she had never traveled before and was also 100 times more potent than the Redstone rocket that launched Alan Shepard. Saturn was the dawn of the Apollo program.
space travel timeline
Finally, we started planning the trip to the moon. We had been looking crew since 1962. The man who was looking for crew members was the only man in the 7 original test pilots never go into space (remember had seven members, but only 6 flights).
space travel timeline
The first great first major setback and tragedy of space exploration occurred in 1967 Apollo 1 (or as it is called in the Apollo 204 times) when a fire destroyed the flash control capsule routine soil test. The three dead astronauts Virgil Griffin burst which was 2 American in space. Until then, NASA was a bit reckless. We found that we had not done well the electrical system in the oxygen-rich environment of the command capsule was horrible. NASA showed that it was a dangerous job.
space travel timeline
The Apollo project began to take a little slower to take several tests and redesign unmanned capsule completely command. So we started working on the Apollo 7 space with long-term recognition. There was a lot of pressure on them after Apollo 1. But the whole project was absolutely perfect. Then came Apollo 8-9-10 forged all the way to the famous Apollo 11.
space travel timeline
Four days after its launch, the lunar module named eagle crew release command module Columbia baptized and began his descent to the surface. This part of the mission was the hardest part because all other aspects of the mission had already been tested repeatedly by the ancestors of Apollo and had problems. Several times during the descent alarms sounded that told the crew that overloading team was happening. However command rightly said that would not affect the landing and ordered them to proceed. Then in 2000 feet above the moon, they discovered that the autopilot Eagle was their land in a rocky crater. Then just 300m Neil took manual control and with only 30 seconds of fuel left was able to skillfully take the module sea of tranquility. When man has taken his first steps on another celestial body.
